You may have mentioned it.
But can hardly blame you.
Yeah. The lower branches of our fake tree are covered in Bitter Yuck. Works very well on our cats, though it appears dogs often do not care. Dunno if you can get some, but maybe you could find a similar product. Warning: wash your hands really well after spraying. Or use a disposable glove, like I do.
Edit for spelling
Lol, I sprayed that on the weatherstripping on the exterior door frames because Other Cat will chew on it for reasons, and all it seemed to do was season it for her. Weirdo cat.
I think there is no other way ā¦
Years ago, when I both had a cat and wore contact lenses, the cat ate one of my contacts. I had to remove the contact for a brief time, and left it on the bathroom counter, on a small plate in a little puddle of saline solution. When I went back to put the contact in again, it was gone, and the cat was on the counter nosing around the plate and licking her lips a little. The bizarre thing is that in my shock/stress at the contact lens being gone, I immediately grabbed the cat and looked in her eyes for it. I still laugh when I remember how it felt as it dawned on me what I was doing. Dāoh!
And today, thereās a small new part to the story: I often draft my bbs comments in a Google doc before posting them here, to be sure theyāre reasonably readable. As I began typing the first sentence of my story just now, Google gave this suggestion that made me laugh out loud:
And, speaking of animals wearing contacts: More recently I had tried wearing contacts again, but ultimately gave up on it. The doctor gave me generous samples of seemingly every contact available, but none of them really worked for me, and I was left with a bagful of assorted brands and types. I learned that the University of Minnesota veterinary school accepted donations of unopened/unexpired contact lenses, to be used by animals that had had eye surgery (Iām thinking it may have been specifically for dogs that had cataract surgery, because their eyes are a lot like ours(?) but my memory is hazy on that part now). All I had to do was return the unused ones to the doctorās office, and they donated them to the U.
Old man has to take a pill twice a day, we use a pill shooter. I swear heās learned how to cheek it. We think heās swallowed it and then a couple minutes later we hear the pill fall out on the floor and he just walks away.
I take a bunch of pills daily, occasionally one drops on the floor, itās something to watch us crawl around looking for it before a cat gets it.
Hereās old man really wanting some treats, thatās Mr. Feral behind him egging him on.
Little guy didnāt make it.
Oh my gosh, Iām so sorry.
With Dulce, the rescue momma, I have to give her a little 5mg prednisone pill every morning, so I hide it in a lump of refried beans no bigger than the tip of my finger. She eats it with no issues at all (though you shouldnāt give large amounts of refried beans to cats because they canāt handle so much onion and other stuff). I buy the most bland brand I can find, and if youāve ever taken prednisone you know itās a bitter pill. She still loves it.
Iāve tried folding them into pieces of lunchmeat or whatnot, but they always tend to fall out before they reach her mouth.
Thank you for trying so hard
We give seizure kitty prednisolone twice a day but itās liquid, for us itās much easier to give it to her with a syringe.
I wish we could just hide a pill but old man can find it no matter where we stick it.
Our dog was so much easier, a little cheese or peanut butter and he would take anything.
Oh, that is so sad to hear. Iām so sorry for you. RIP, little kitty.
You did everything you could. If there had been a chance, you would have been the reason little guy made it. Thatās the best you can do.
Poor little kitten.
You are a great human.
Iām so sorry. Thank you for trying.
Oh, cute! How long have they been adjacent but not in contact?
@FloridaManJefe - I was wondering if some kind of gradual introduction might work with OC and your current denizen? OC looks like a lovely darling that would be a beautiful addition to your household.
