And, she’s still with us, no seizures in a few weeks. Two more weeks without a seizure and the the neurologist says we can try weaning her off the steroid. If the seizures come back it’s a tumor, if they stay at bay then it’s likely not a tumor but damage from a stroke.
No, she still has to be on anticonvulsant medication for the rest of her life but her life expectancy is still better than with a tumor.
We have a 7 day trip planned in our RV for the 4th, normally we take 2 cats with us and our neighbor watches the others but he’s not able to give the medication so she needs to go with us. Normally it’s not her thing.
We did a trial couple nights in our driveway, she did really well mostly due to the medication. So that problem is solved. We were going to cancel.
She was guarding the steps this evening. Her brother and sister tried to pass but no one is allowed upstairs. That’s another new behavior.
She is getting real comfortable around us. I walked out the door today and she was shoulder level on the door waiting for us just a couple inches from my head. She wanted her nutty dinner.
Yes, it’s quite fascinating. It’s a small nature reserve, about 1.5 × 0.5 km strip of river bank in the middle of the city. There are much bigger and more remote bits of wilderness around, but for some reason it is always easiest to spot many kinds of birds here. I guess the terrain is to blame: it’s all ravines dug by small streams on a steep hillside. That means lots of different microclimates (sunny vs shaded slopes, dry hilltops vs wet valleys), that means lots of different plants, that means lots of different bugs, that means lots of different birds.
