I’m afraid you get no GeoGuessr points for being 9500 km off. It’s Karoliniškių kraštovaizdžio draustinis, Vilnius.
The keeper of the stairs is still keeping the other cats downstairs but this afternoon her sister faked left and then jumped over her. The look on her face was priceless and then she looked at me as if to say “did you see that? Wtf just happened?”
Mr. Feral was watching gardening videos with my wife today.
We found this kitten in a suburban street under a car. No sign of a mother or siblings.
Tiny kitten + outdoors = feral or abandoned.
He appears too young to eat solid food and pooped on me while holding him.
We washed him for safety sake.
1st thing tomorrow morning we are going to the local humane society shelter.
What are you feeding him? (I assume you are feeding him something…)
I tried to give him some wet food. But he wasn’t going near it. I am not sure he’s weaned yet. Going to try some water from a tuna can
I have no idea what i am doing. But I am trying to keep him alive and safe until I can have professionals at the Humane Society see him tomorrow morning
Do you have a dosing syringe? You can mix the wet food until it is a thin slurry and dribble it in the kitten’s mouth. Tuna juice will do in a pinch.
Also- make sure they are warm. They might not want to eat if they are at all cold.
Good luck
He looks like he’s in decent shape, though. You’re ahead of the game. Good luck!
ETA: My kittens are the same size and they’re eating a mix of dry food, one wet food meal a day, and nursing whenever they feel like it – usually twice a day.
I dropped the little guy at the local Humane Society and left a donation for them. Like every cat I have transported in a car, he panic-pooped in the carrier.
He was taken to a vet and fed. He’s in good hands. If he was just a few weeks older, I would have considered adopting him.
Such a good human
Bonding is pretty much completed. The doe is grooming the buck. She’s the dominant one, so her grooming him is a show of acceptance.
The buck doesn’t really know how to bunny, and I think that frustrates the doe. She’ll groom him, he doesn’t groom her back, then she nips him to demand to be groomed, and he is all confused why she is going after him.
It took nearly three months to reestablish their bond, but it was worth it.
Yay! Boop!
Well…I mean…he WILL be a few weeks older very soon! Could they hold him for you?
He’s going to get fostered by people more experienced in kitten raising. I figure there are high odds he will get adopted out quickly.
My neighbor is one of those people. He’s the kitten guy for the municipal shelter. Right now he has five little feral babies too small to adopt out that he is taming down, feeding up, and getting over their various intestinal issues.
Kiddo and I help socialize them—so much fun! Taking care of one of his fosters when he had to go out of town is how we ended up with Bitey Kitten becoming our fourth cat, so obviously I’m not cut out for the fostering gig.
Nice save on your part!
I am surrounded by good humans here.
I wish our county had the resources for taking care of kittens and other abandoned pets/animals.
All the non county shelters near us have been full and not taking in animals for quite some time.
I’m glad you guys have people able to help.
When we win the lottery we will be funding some shelters.
