If you have an iDevice or use Apple Music on a non-mobile device, then unfortunately it is. 
It’s my primary media management software and obviously I use it for syncing but I hate it and have for almost a decade.

Did you grow up in a house (meaning a home your parents owned, I realize the wording is weird)? I spend all of my childhood moving around to houses that we only rented and now as an adult, I’m dying to Bob Vila the shit out of a place of my own.

Home ownership has its perks but it’s largely overrated. These days the whole concept of “home equity” is a joke anyway.

I did, actually. But my dad said late in his life that if he had it to do all over again, he might never have bought a house. And I’ve got a pretty sweet rental deal right now; this house hasn’t been updated since the 70’s so the landlord pretty much said we can do anything we want in it. Because anything would be an improvement. Obviously I’m not going to do anything super expensive, because I can’t take it with me, but it’s nice to have the option to put a new kitchen faucet or something in.

This. It was a good deal for us at the time over renting and it was bought before everything went insane and now some 16 years in it is definitely cheaper than renting. That said it is a place to live not an investment. I am happy that we will be quite in the black when it comes to selling though.
