our family python comes out from his hide, slithers down to the end of his enclosure, and rests his head on a name plate to watch tv when we put the news on. it’s truly odd but he doesn’t come out for any other type of programming, just the news. he’s the best informed snake in the state of texas.

My cats watch TV the same way. Especially when nature shows are on.
Its always the “I’m hunting you with my mind” look.

For Mantises, porn and horror are the same show! Very efficient

Yes, I fondly remember when you could purchase, like, Guns & Boobs magazine from your local convenience store.

Kids, sit further back from the set, it’s going to ruin your compound eyes!

Someone on the Entomology FB page mentioned that as kids in the Philipines, they’d say “Where’s the sky/heaven?” which can prompt them to get into their attack stance, which looks like they’re pointing up.

Interesting, because there has been debate about how well non-humans can see objects on a screen. Looks like the answer is just fine.

Just since covid, since they’ve been stuck inside looking at screens all day.

I’ve noticed that cats and dogs paid no attention to cathode-ray-tube televisions. When flat screens came along, suddenly all kinds of critters were watching.

My parents cat used to watch nature programs on CRTs. It got pretty funny when he decided to go hunting elephants or rhinos on the other side of the screen.
