Ah yes, Pat Boone’s Heavy Metal phase. Now that’s something you don’t see every day.
Take it from an old lady- this was cringe in 1968.
Pat is rockin’ some serious “Beef” energy; a “beef-patty”?
A spoken word masterpiece in the tradition of William Shatner
Me on the 60s:
“Nuke it from orbit. It’s the only way to be sure.”
Let me remind you and others… The 60s, while not perfect, were certainly a time of deep and important systemic change, brought about by mass movements. And pretty much any period in history since the advent of mass media is going to have some cringe elements.
But Liberace is not, in fact, cringe. Sorry.
No 60’s and no whatever you’re listening to now.
You can have my Sly & the Family Stone or Lou Reed when you try to pry it from my cold, dead hands.
Without the shameless pandering to boomer youth culture of the 60’s would we have the majesty of the 70’s?
That doesn’t look like disco, the Ramones or the Sex Pistols.
Yet it is equally majestic. Never forget what they took from us.
I no longer get to choose what I forget.
Agh! Take me back to a more luxurious age!
Not the same. The late 60s - early 70s flowers had space between the petals. It was a vibe, man.
