I have a book about radical politics in Europe in the 80s, and how punk intersects with that, often through squats like this.

There was a squat in the Outer Richmond district [circa 1985], in what was the old Sutro Bathes, near the now defunct Cliff House. My place was on 48th & Fulton, so I saw these folks on a pretty frequent basis. They would hit me up for a shower or a place to crash when the weather was really shitty. Wow, that brought back some memories.

This is the old Hamms brewery building in SF not the Falstaff Brewery. Still located at 1550 Bryant St, San Francisco, CA and now an office building. Fun fact: There used to be a wonderbread factory across the street!

Didn’t the Mackenzie Brothers do something like this back in the day?
