Nothing particularly cat-like abut climbing. My nephew used to have a dog who would leap to the top of a chain-link fence and balance there for minutes at a time. Did that make him a bird?

Yeah, when I was a kid my family had a German Shepard who could climb a six-foot tall chain-link fence.

I did this too when I was at that age (adjusted). No play pen could hold me. Having opposable thumbs helped, of course.
