Anyone else see a full 180º double rainbow (all colors distinct in both) during a dark rain storm with lightning?
Anyone else also unaware prior to this that rainbows were even possible while an extreme storm was still raging and no sun was available?

Can I say no to that? While the rainy drizzle of Seattle is great for rainbows and even nice solid double rainbows doesn’t it suck that thunderstorms are a very rare thing?

Well, it could be worse, couldn’t it? The Great Pacific Race is ongoing; that is a rowing race from California to Hawaii…here is what the Pacific looks like right now:
I think I’ll stop complaining about the heavy rain keeping us from BBQing our tri-tip today; at least can’t I say I’m not in a freaking rowboat in the middle of the Pacific surrounded by hurricanes and tropical storms?

Is that comforting to the three that are still out there? And since Oahu is still under pretty bad conditions (my house lost power briefly around 30 minutes ago and I can’t hear the radio over the hammering of the rain on my roof) is being close to the finish line here such a good thing?

While I hear you on the weather, wouldn’t you rather be 100km from land with others tracking you by GPS, and close resources for rescue, than somewhere in the middle?
