Is it still nethack if you’re using tiles an such to make it pretty?
Does the IOS version still work a lot better on the iPad then the iPhone?
Or are iPhone screens now enough bigly?

Why won’t The Boy fall asleep? It’s seriously ten o’clock and he’s just not going for it, can I club him over the head?
Also, “o’clock,” is that Irish?
Any thoughts about this, @toyg?
You probably don’t want to know how many times I wonder if I would get into real trouble by clubbing on the head?
I’m totally not surprised. M5S is fundamentally a populist movement that knows how to exploit the internet better than most of their adversaries - because it was born there. One such exploit is to spread disinformation “and let the bastards deny it”; unlike on old media, this behaviour cannot effectively be policed (and tbh, even on newspapers it’s usually very hard to fight - it just happens less out of common courtesy, as journos and politicos belong to the same social classes). In a way, the web today is like newborn mass-media in the first half of the last century: not everyone knows how to use it and abuse it. The few who understand their mechanisms, wield tremendous power.
M5S is also notoriously heterogeneous from a political standpoint, their only fundamental policy being a demand for less corruption in public life. Because of their anti-establishment bent, they want to believe what Putin is selling - not unlike your garden-variety internet tinfoil hattery - hence the credit Kremlin-friendly media gets. Antivaxxers are similarly, and predictably, numerous in the movement. As in the US, some (or all) of the guilt for this state of things must be shouldered by major established media brands, which are relentlessly partisan and prone to uncritically spreading talking points from industry players - both on the right and on the left.
I personally don’t share the doom and gloom for the rise of M5S - with all their problems, they rekindled a political discourse that was stagnant in the post-'92 “Washington + Berlin consensus”. I believe they will melt once they reach power, as it happened to all populist movements “marching to Rome” for the last 25 years - when you get to actually govern, it’s really hard to keep together very different souls. This, as long as constitutional reforms are rejected this week by voters, which would mean they leave in place the democratic straightjacket that was built in 1946 to avoid a repeat of Fascism. If they take that away, then all bets are off.
Could you phrase that in the form of a question or questions?
Ha, sorry.
“What do you expect from internet trolls?”
Did you know it took me seven hours to make a 50 second animated clip? Why is animation so hard?
tell me about. Why I’m hand crafting a gif for a scene and sheesh. I see why people not paying for the professional products?
will anyone notice the edit?
You are aware of the one rule here, right?
Also, does working with Synfig provoke a lasting deep-seated terror at the sheer complexity for everyone?
have I forgotten what thread this is? Again? Will I change the syntax?
Shall I let you know that as far as I can tell it was totally worth it?
Would it please you to know it was doubly amusing to me as I am wearing the Hedgezilla shirt today?
Could you tell this is the first of several planned Hedgezilla vids, with the goal being to ultimately have the animated story go longer than the credits (also articulated limbs, spline paths, and perhaps a bit more plot)? Can you tell I’m glad at the serendipity of you wearing the Hedgezilla shirt (which is still one of our faves)?
Isn’t the new Mayor of Rome from M5S? Wasn’t she elected on a “new broom sweeps clean” anticorruption platform (and not at all because she’s young, pretty, and personable)? But isn’t her administration already suffering from corruption charges?
Hasn’t Rome been quite corrupt for millennia? Is it realistic to expect a single party (who can’t agree on anything except “not being as corrupt as the others”) to change all that in a few months? How long will the electorate tolerate the new clowns?
Would you believe I average 20 minutes to record two minutes of voice acting with no other processing?
(Haven’t I also done a few seconds of hand drawn animation? Wasn’t it miserably long to do?
)
ETA: What is an unclosed parenthesis?
Can I confess that you and @nemomen are making me feel better about the average 5 hours (not counting planning) I might spend on a 15-minute-or-so video I make for my students? (But especially nemo, because doesn’t your 20:2 time ratio actually seem pretty efficient by comparison?)
With time in Photoshop to build assets/art, and 24 frames/second and 280 frames for an ~11 second main animation, even with vectorization and key frames helping you skip in-betweening, isn’t there just a ridiculous amount of work involved in animation? Isn’t it worse for early projects where you’re learning to do the stuff and making errors that can force you to backtrack a lot?
How weird is it that while watching Kingdom of the Spiders, I looked down and saw a big ol’ spider crawling up the side of the pouf upon which I was resting my feet?
Did you know that none of us are ever more than 6 feet away from a spider, at any given time?
