But Castro was also throwing LBGQT people in prison and the regime refuses to recognize the racial divide in Cuba. But I wouldn’t categorize the Castro regime as “evil.” Given that they are literally on our doorstep and spent the past 60 or so years doing everything we could short of a straight up invasion, it’s amazing that the regime wasn’t ever more authoritarian than it actually was.
