(it’s confetti)
Also! If you’re on desktop, you can mouseover the reaction (or any emoji) and get a textual description of what it is. Or what it’s supposed to be, I guess.
Usually I go gooey over Octopodes, but I can appreciate Coelenterata too
Something seems broken with these. They now kind of pop up and then disappear like tooltips. Whenever I try to see who likes any of my posts they seem to disappear almost immediately. It’s not great on mobile for me. (Safari iOS 16.4.)
Also having to long press is a really lousy design pattern, especially on mobile. It’s not discoverable at all.
It’s happening to me too on Android, only when there’s more than one row of reaction.
Also:
The reaction counter changes position if there are mixed reaction instead of only .
Oh, so you can.
I kinda like this now.
What’s the one in the upper right? Jazz hands?
Boy I really feel old. I guess I’m no longer “with it”. I used to be with it, then they changed what it was. Now what I’m with isn’t it, what’s it is weird and scary to me. And it will happen to you!!!
That’s two jellyfish getting in on if that’s what you want it to be.
On hearing Nana died did you text high 5 or prayers?
Now I cannot I unsee amorous jellyfish.
How will I use that??
I refuse to believe that emoji is anything other than two jellyfish kissing.
My grandmother died when I said she was “on fleek”
Wait, that isn’t prayers? Is it a high-5?
Go with the flow, just like they do.
“On fleek” died when folks our age started using it.
If you’re taking requests, “thinking” might be a nice one to have:
Really cool site, good for double checking how an emoji may render on a different platform, good for finding out what all the newest additions are too.
I have one criticism/suggestion:
Can the selection box be positioned so that it’s below and not above/covering the comment itself?
That’s high on my list for the next pass, agreed.
I shall ask/suggest!
Thanks!
Actually I just noticed on mobile the emojis are in two rows, so I added anyway to round it out.
Lastly, also to @gracchus ’s suggestion that is better than angry man to express frustration/anger in a way that is less likely to be confused with “unlike”, which we don’t want to promote. It has a super annoying description name though for desktop users who can see the names!
