I totally thought that was prayers, too! Probably because the only person that ever sends me that emoji is a cousin that is praying for me. Which probably says more about me than anything, I guess.

One odd thing that they’re already talking about on the discourse page is that these new reactions don’t count as “likes” towards the nice/good/great post badges. You still need to get 10 /25/50 likes for these, and all the other reactions aren’t included in the total for some reason.

Here’s a question: since “likes” seem to be somehow distinct from “heart emojis” – in that the “like” counter goes away when non-heart reacts are used and gets superseded by the emoji counter – will something with 10 heart emojis, plus other reactions, even get a “Nice Reply”?

I just gave that a “hugs” reaction and expected it to show up on the left, and instead it replaced the “Like this post” heart on the right.
ETA Ohhhh…is that because it’s MY reaction, so I see the emoticon in the “Like this post” position?
I see that it’s also included over on the left in the list of everyone’s reactions.
Does anyone else see my “hugs” emoticon on the right, or is it just on the right for me?

I feel like this is trying to mess with my mind. I’ve been mostly still giving the “Like this post” heart (The Original!! The Greatest!!) since the new reactions thing started, but I could swear that I gave someone a reaction yesterday or the day before that didn’t show up on the right for me…did that just change today??

it’s different on mobile ( or at least android with firefox ) - which confused me a bit the first time jumping between my laptop and phone
i like the mobile positioning a whole lot more. it feels more intuitive to me

Not chasing praise (I can’t compete with most of you), but do the new reactions not count towards “Nice/Great/etc Reply!” badges? In the covid thread, I have a post that has 15 reactions currently, but only 6 of which are the “heart.” Normally, I’d see a “Nice Reply” notification at 10, but crickets, suggesting the other nine responses don’t make the grade anymore.
