I like the artwork this time. I don’t know if it was an illo trend or if this particular artist was in demand back then, but I haven’t seen that style since I was in high school (checking the date, this comic was released Spring of my Junior year or Fall of Sr.)
Mary Fleener. Used to do a lot of work in Weirdo (I think) and other undergrounds and independents in the eighties and nineties; she always impressed me as having a much better grasp of the black and white comics medium than most, although if you go to that link, you’ll see that she’s also done some spectacular color work.
I have the complete run of weirdo, and what’s missing from this series of illustrations is sufficient cock. seriously, 2 little wieners lost in a sea of giant tits? no fun for me.
