“Best circuit board schematic fonts…” HA! So good.
I’m trying to figure out if this is a dig against unreasonably large or unreasonably small homes.
Can I pass up on the garage and the lawn, and trade it in for walking distance to the shops and biking distance to work?
Reasonably Sized Homes according to whom?
So many, many market spaces…
Now I want to make a shelf safe, and hide it by making it look like several years of collected issues of “Reasonably Sized Homes” magazine.
Ah, PCI audio. If you had a directsound accelerator you got more sound effects in games without trashing your framerate. Plus, you might just get static free cd audio.
An unshielded analog cable to recieve all the digital hash from your motherboard was once a thing.
The mixed use medium density edition in the summer is very controversial.
Why not both? Media outlets focus on 3000+SQF McMansions on one end and tiny homes and #vanlife on the other. The 800-1800SQF category is apparently too boring, even though it delivers the best outcome in terms of cost-benefit for actually living in the home.
When I was a child the typical first new home was 1,000 square feet, and folk were totally pleased to be able to buy one. But those folk became more affluent and upgraded to 1,200 sq ft. Their children looked at mom and dad’s upgrade house and decided that their first home should be at least equal to their parents’ final house. And that, boys and girls, is how we ended up with 2,400 sf “starter homes” and mortgages that eat up everything mom and dad earn for the next 30 years.
I’ve got 1500 square feet and, I wouldn’t mind another 750’ or so – I’d like a hobby room with a bit of space. My folks built an 5,000+’ square foot house 30 year ago and while it is lovely and was great when the grandkids were younger and we’d have big holiday get togethers, it’s sort of absurd for two people in their mid-80s when the grandkids are mostly grown.
Garage is far too big.
Well, it’s not called “reasonably sized garages”
It does raise the question of what to call architectural monstrosities which are too small to be McMansions.
HappyMansions?
The townhome concept seems to have replaced reasonably-sized homes in new construction, all the way out to the exurbs.
Man, a house hidden by a huge garage in front is so ugly. Especially that close to the sidewalk.
It appears this house has no choice, since it’s a old neighborhood in a big city. You have to hide your car, but there’s no room to drive around to the back. The house is too big or the garage is too big. They need an alley behind this row of houses.
I’ve honestly never considered trying different fonts in my layout tools - is that even supported? (I’d have to guess so, but…)
