Funny - I made a conscious effort a few years ago to stop using “good” and use “well” instead. I realized it felt more natural to me to reply “I’m doing well, thanks!” when someone asked “How are you?”.
Maybe we’re bringing balance to the Force or something.
Just tell them it is for others to judge whether you are good or evil, but meantime you’ll stick with saying you are well, thanks very much for asking.

What about when people ask a question by saying “question:”
I should be able to tell from context that you are asking a question.

Funny, world events led me to stop saying “good” or “well” in response to that question a few years ago. Now I mostly say, “healthy and employed, but in the throes of existential angst, fearing for the future of the country and the world.”
Solves all the grammar issues, too.
Yeah, my usual response is “I’m ok”, or “not too badly”. “I’m doing well”, or “good”… not really a thing.
