People had the same attitude about Georgia until Democrats won both senate seats. There are a lot of good people everywhere and you should never assume that there’s no hope.

If the GOP can’t adapt then it should die. The fact they can’t keep much of the urban voters, even if you put suburban voting blocks into the mixt, should be a warning to them but it seems these decades of continual urban losses hasn’t sunk in.

this “whacko” is working hard to GOTV for Demmings and Crist. while it is alway sooo funny 
to say floridians are all just crazy crackers, a lot of good people are ready to vote blue in my relatively red county.

People seem to forget that Florida GOP does a lot of voter suppression themselves to retain power. Even when Florida voters approved former felons voting (representing over a million people) the Florida GoP sabotaged it.

true. also the desantis personally drawn redistricting maps eliminated two dem stronghold districts and basically left PoC voters to swim in a new sea of red. add to that the wholesale disenfranchisement of voters in high PoC districts by directly purging voter rolls of 10s of thousands of registered voters.
and desantis’ private “election police” charged with “finding” fraud (read, people of color daring to vote) and we get a backlash that very well could at least put Demmings in the Senate over hypocritical Rubio. also holding out to oust desantis with a Stacy Abrams-style GOTV effort to rally new voters and some of my sleepy neighbors to go big on blue.

It’s really true. Same for most other southern red states (possible less of that in the midwest red states).
The national democratic party REALLY needs to export he approach to GOTV, because it’s not something specific to us here in GA. It can and will work anywhere. You just need to have the people to do the work and rally the base.
I wish we could replicate her in the transporter and send her to all 50 states to get this work done.

yup. and as far back as bush v gore they were caught taking felon lists from other states to purge florida residents who had similar names.
that state is red in part because there’s been a concerted and arguably illegal effort to keep it so
