Reward isn’t just inconsistent for the dog- for the baby also. You need to stick a piece of cheese in the baby’s mouth _every time_it rings the bell. That would stop the over ringing by the baby, and if you combine that with being rigorous about making the dog ring the bell for cheese, you’d see they both get it and the experiment would work perfectly.

Cute baby + shiba inu = watchable video.
They could have been sleeping, reading a book, painting a fence, doesn’t matter. Video is a win.
