Rishi Sunak to be new UK Prime Minister

According to the Wiki, he was born in 1980, which is in that tricky period where, depending on how it gets defined, people end up as either Xers or Millenials. I’ve seen those years around the start of the 80s being argued as either, or even as a little sub-generation that relates to neither of the two, as they don’t share all the cultural shibboleths of either time.

It’s almost as if “generations” aren’t monolithic cultural blocks that all think and act the same way. Whodathunkit?

Oh, and Rishi Sunak is an anagram of hi risk anus.

That is all.

JFC! What a disconnected-from-mundanity dip-sheep! That move only works with a membership/discount card. No! That wanker clearly has someone else shop for his pressed-shirt bum!

Hoping that can of pop suffers him some severely compressive aerophagia out his bum while speaking to Parliament. May it remind him and the rest of Britain that he’s just a meat tube like everyone else.

Am I the only one reminded of the Pink Floyd album cover with two dudes in suits shaking hands while one of them is on fire :fire:

You’re doing very well indeed under very trying circumstances - each and every one of them is a right Jeremy Hunt.

There is no clearly defined start date for Millennials, it ranges from the late 70s to 1985.

One definition that works well for the UK is that Gen X got student grants and free tuition for university but Millennials got student loans and tuition fees, which makes Sunak an early Millennial (not that he ever had to worry about student debt).

We have our nickname for him now.

Ouch - he never had to take student loans, which for most of us ends up as a graduate tax. Even if he did need to take them, his City career would have been enough to clear the balance.

I’m so pissed off at the student loan that walks like a grad tax and quacks like a grad tax, but is very unevenly applied.

He does a good Thatcher impersonation.

More evidence that establishment Labor pols are as wimpy about fighting the opposition party (let alone pursuing policies that would help ordinary people) as establishment Dems in the U.S.
