“Robot Pigeon With Sombrero On Its Head Spotted In Reno”
This is basically the avian equivalent of the T-800.
Whoa, what’s next? A robot AI with real human brain cells to improve Agile development?
Feathers? That’s just lazy. BF Skinner used whole pigeons in the 1940ies.
It’s interesting how they describe the velcro effect between feathers. As a fly tier who works with many diverse kinds of feathers, that’s a particularly noted affect for the feathers from long-distance flyers like ducks and geese. The micro-structures of peacock and pheasant feathers are incredible - think feathers covered in mini-feathers covered in micro-feathers. And ostrich hurl feathers have filaments that spiral around the shaft.
The circle is complete, velcro having been inspired by the tiny hooks on burr fruit. Seriously though, biomimicry is so cool.
I see wormsign.
