I’m sure Il Douche will express deep concern about this move…
[crickets]
If he does, it would be with Putin’s permission (to confuse and throw us off the Trump-as-pro-Russian scent).
The ones you know about are more likely to be empty - or at least not full of nukes or important people.
It’s the ones we don’t know about…
Bunker buffing sounds more like something Trumpty Dumpty would do on a round of golf (so as to give him an advantage, of course).
Kaliningrad is basicaly WW2 booty-- it was the German city of Konigsberg until the Red Army came and basically annexed it.
This kind of trips my hyperbole meter a bit.
Russia has upgraded a military base in Russia. Building and upgrading bases in your own territory is what every country does, and it doesn’t come laden with a whole raft of political symbolism.
If this move is to be interpreted as “giddily weaponising the Baltic region”, then how should we interpret this situation in the rest of Europe:
The capital of Prussia, in fact, and a center of the Protestant Reformation. Home to Immanuel Kant and Leonhard Euler.
After the Russians got done bombing and shelling the city, they built their bases and turned the rest of the area into a garbage dump.
Same as Cuban missile crisis where USA had put nuclear missiles in Turkey but was willing to go to war to prevent the Soviet Union from responding by putting missiles on Cuba.
Putin’s retirement home?
“Vandalized Georgia”? Georgia was rocketing its own civilian (minority) population. They deserved whatever “vandalism” they got.
