I assume that they thought they would prevail with their “glorious revolution” and, at the end of the day, all the FBI, law enforcement officers and military would be on their side and there would be no recriminations. Tough luck, guys (and gals, of course - musn’t be sexist about these things!). I don’t think I have ever seen such crass stupidity. Who, in their right mind, would post such incriminating evidence that gives absolutely no doubt as to the nature of their crimes.

And the fact that he is absurd, and now a laughing stock will probably do as much to discourage more people from joining the movement as the arrests will. Because arrests just mean that they didn’t try hard enough THIS TIME. They can believe that the storming of the Capitol was just the first step. But being laughed at is NOT part of the glorious story that they wanted to be a part of.
