But terms like “classical” were long ago appropriated by the private school industry and now somewhat signify it.
Well, a certain segment of the private and home school industry, specifically the one that embraces and pushes a Xtianist and white supremacist view of Western civilisation.
One parent complained the Renaissance era material was pornographic and others said they wanted to know about the lesson before it was taught.
I’m not a parent, but I can’t imagine being too chuffed with being given homework for me to do; in the form of plans for all of my kid’s lessons.

To truly appreciate Michelangelo’s genius, you need to see these works up close and personal. Pictures simply do not do them justice. The fact that these are carved from single blocks of stone is astounding.
The pieces that captivated me the most was the Hall of Prisoners…you can really see how he doesn’t so much as carve the stone away but instead “releases” the forms from inside the marble. Incredible!
For its part, the school has retained lawyers to “set the record straight,” specifically stating that “at no time has Tallahassee Classical School characterized Michelangelo’s Statue of David as
pornography”
But who did they support, and who did they tell to go fuck off, hmmm?
