This would seem to belie the definition of an “outlier”:

The 84 theoretical maximum comes from fitting a curve to the data and also factoring in the possibility of outliers whose performance lies within a certain error margin of the curve.

…unless those outliers utilized the turbo mcmeaty esophageal tube

remember when scientists said a 4 minute mile was impossible? I’m sure someone can beat their limit… they may need to be wearing a diaper or some such but I’m sure it can be beaten.
