Or outright murder. From the wiki.
Michele’s mother, Flo Barnett, was a long-time Scientologist.[23] On September 8, 1985, 52-year-old Flo Barnett was found dead from three “somewhat superficial” rifle shots to the chest and a fatal shot to the head. The autopsy also reported that there were slash marks on her wrists that may have been a few days old.[24] The death was ruled a suicide

The fascinating thing about Scientology is it’s basically a living example of the evolution of a cult into a religion. We have some of the same historical information about the creation of the LDS church, but this is so much more recent and well documented. You can apply the basic blueprint to the formation of most religions in history.

How dare a feminist website ask about the welfare of a woman.

Don’t ask.

there is absolutely no way a 57 year old woman has not seen a medical doctor from 46-57, no-one is that healthy and doesn’t need any kind of medication

someone, somewhere knows

She’s probably not physically chained to a wall if that’s what you’re thinking. Cults have been brainwashing people for ages. If you asked her to leave she would probably say no.

Of the cities I’ve lived in, the LAPD set the standard for remiss policing.

Coin toss whether she’s deceased or the “Church” simply doesn’t trust her not to cry for help if they allow her contact with someone on the outside. She was probably alive and under guard by her husband’s goons when the LAPD saw her. Video proof of life with her showing a current newspaper would prove only that she’s alive. If so, she’s almost certainly a prisoner of her husband. It’s sad, but because this cult has wealth and power, California and Federal law enforcement are unlikely to pressure them into allowing a social worker to interview her without her alleged captors present.

There are probably MD’s who are Scientologists.

Er, whut? There definitely are ^^’. Try a search for “Scientologist doctors”, for example.

Also not nearly the only link =).

I have zero love for the faith but yes, there are Scientologist doctors. It really shouldn’t be THAT flabbergasting; anyone can be a fool for their beliefs, given half a chance, and there are plenty of Scientologists, worldwide, to statistically ensure some of them will be doctors.

Not that large a number. ~50,000 total twenty years ago, and things have gotten worse since then between external criticism and internal policies. In the last US ARIS survey, they dropped down into the noise. 25,000 but the error bars are huge. Census results from other countries are also small. 2K each in UK, Canada, Australia, much less outside the angloverse. Taiwan is an anomaly, possibly eastern Europe, although Putin keeps smacking them in Russia.

And that was before the latest round of books, movies and tv shows like Scientology and the Aftermath. The general feeling is that a lot of people have left in the last few years, with more “under the radar”: still in only avoid disconnection from friends and family. I’d prefer hard numbers, but those are difficult to dig out.

And if she’s dead, she deserves to have that death investigated.

The “Church” of Scientology has a site where they respond to each episode of Ms Remini’s series: https://www.leahreminiaftermath.com/

They will often post video interviews with people who are still members reacting to the interviewees on the show, often their family members who are still in the church.

The fact that they haven’t posted ANY videos for the most recent episode which dealt with the absence of Ms Miscavige is certainly interesting. It would be the simplest thing in the world to post just a few words from Ms Miscavige asking to be left alone, which would put the whole thing to bed once and for all.
