All my life I just assumed the models were constructed inside the bottle. I had no idea that the trick was to build the model, fold it, insert it into the bottle, and then unfold it. It seems like cheating almost.

It looks like the the hull of the ship is inserted in two steps-- the keel, and the upper hull.
