Kinda dangerous. “Food pranks” are illegal in some places. In California, spitting in someone’s food is considered battery, and a guy in Barcelona is doing jail time for feeding a homeless man an oreo where the cream had been replaced by toothpaste (https://www.nytimes.com/2019/06/02/world/europe/oreos-toothpaste-youtube-prank.html). Although both of those are (subjectively) more disgusting than tricking people into eating bugs, I wouldn’t want to be the YouTuber who found out that “food bug allergies” are a thing.
It’s all fun and games until someone goes into anaphylaxis from a shellfish (bugs of the sea) allergy.
Was going to say the same thing. I don’t think this is a fun prank at all, even putting allergies aside
For sure. It’s one thing if a waiver was involved, asking about allergies, etc., but then it wouldn’t be a “prank”.
When I went vegan years back, what I really discovered is that for me, food is a texture and flavor delivery system, and I couldn’t care less what it is made out of. I’d rather it be natural food however, and I’m not consuming that Soylent crap!
I guess it’s a step up from serving food critics to insects.
Kinda like dosing people’s drinks.
Yeah. Just don’t play a “trick” like that.
