An elegant weapon… for a more civilized age.

GIves new meaning to the idiom “butting heads.”

My head hurts.

That’s not really a “new” meaning so much as the literal origin of the idiom.

Boom goes the dynamite!

It’s sort of an elegant dance. I wonder if that is always how it’s done.

So I normally wouldn’t post a corporate commercial here but these guys get points for having Marty Stouffer from Wild America narrate.

If you’ve ever been close to it (domestic rams here), the videos just don’t do it justice.

(Google’s $#!¥ keyboard doesn’t think that there is a plural for “ram” that doesn’t mean a sports team.)

For a real impulse you want musk oxen. Two animals about 600lb each, speed differential of 50mph, dispersed in maybe .2sec?

We clearly see the metaphor, Rob.

Napkin math, assuming a linear inelastic collision between oxen of equal mass: 1/2(285kg*11.18m/s^2) = 17.8kJ impulse per each oxen. Say an average human weights about 62kg, so that’s very roughly equivalent force of two average humans butting heads, each traveling about 24m/s or ~54mph. Might need some Advil after that.

Who else thought “This… is Wild America”?

ETA: I see @Otherbrother (sort of) beat me to the punch…
