Why isn’t he playing from his car?
Because if he was in his car, he could only receive.
Well, that is the sweetest thing I am ever going to see.
Are friends electric? Yes, they are.
Singing? Yes. Signing? Not so much.
I think what I like best is how we can see that Numan isn’t one of those artists who have become hollowed-out versions of themselves. The true self is on display for everyone to see.
Yep… must frantically submit yet another “hey guys look at this video” post.
Are friends acoustic? When a mate told me about this video, I imagine Mr Numan sat at an unplugged keyboard going, “thunk thunk thunk. thunk thunk, thunk thunk”.
This was lovely.
Most of mine are, sort of.
His first album (Tubeway Army, 1978!) had great guitar mixed with synth, way ahead of its time. Steel and You: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iJLaeLWxkpk and Friends: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-8Q9MRt1r7I tubewayarmy_1978|250x263

Just when you thought Gary Numan couldn’t be any lovelier or more humble, here’s a clip from the early noughties where he says he likes the Sugababes version of his track better than the original…
*Graham Norton still has his own very successful chat show, but less famously played an annoying dancing priest in the sitcom Father Ted.
Needs more @garethb2
Please fix typo in post headline, Gareth.
Full disclosure: I wore both Tubeway Army! and Replicas out in the day…but Gary is also a fucking Tory and therefore a supporter of a decade if austerity that has decimated the UK… So…love the music, Gary, but fuck you.
Graham Norton plays the other annoying dancing priest!
Man, I totally clicked through to see how he was going to play guitar and sign at the same time…
