Ah yes, my apologies to Disqus.
@redesigned Yes, I’ve been kicking around a while. Though I’ve read a few zines, I’m disappointed BoingBoing wasn’t one of them.

Heck, I remember when Boing Boing Gadgets was a thing.
Still radio science from our fearless leader. Hope everything is okay. Maybe he’s catching up on WestWorld.
Today no thread for…
That’s just cruel. Only one possible explination. Obviously @frauenfelder and @markfrauenfelder are in reality part of a composite person firmly in the pocket of Big Old Ones…
Which one has the evil goatee?
Perhaps the pinging is Mark’s secret underwater lair…
I thought something more like Mr. Limpet.
and this
https://bbs.boingboing.net/t/chinese-police-make-full-beam-drivers-stare-into-headlights-for-punishment/88894?source_topic_id=88703
just disappeared on my while I was looking at it.
the comment link goes back to the article.
And looking through just Mark’s Posts on the main site a lot of the comments links to go to 404/private.
@beschizza is this yours to fix or someone on @codinghorror’s end?
Thoroughly agree. I love @xeni’s space coverage, but there’s rarely much to say in response other than “Thanks, Xeni!” And while I do like Cory’s technical posts, I tend to avoid even reading the outrage-baitey ones any more, because I might comment if I read one.
I think Mark is my favorite poster, overall, even though we have very different outlooks on consumer culture. His sense of humor works for me, as does Rob’s.
So following up, this [link to comments] (file:///Users/nelc/Pictures/SnapNDrag%20Library.snapndraglibrary/ba5951ac5/screenshot_1019.png) from Mark’s stream, dated 4:30 AM FRI, OCT 28, 2016, works — but this one from half-an-hour later just goes to the “Oops! That page doesn’t exist or is private” page, as does every other post from Mark following that. But that last one claims that it has 41 comments on the private page.
So are only some of the commentators being excluded? Is some virus slowly converting Mark’s comments pages to private viewing, one at a time? Is this just the first signs of the other editors planning a coup?
Also, I know that BB is allergic to any kind of documentation, with its hidden help menus, live design changes on the fly, and coders and editors leaving hints about functionality on obscure comment threads, but… what exactly is the established procedure for reporting bugs like this (presumed) one? Am I supposed to drop names like @codinghorror, @frauenfelder, @markfrauenfelder, @beschizza, @falcor, etc in a post to Meta until someone notices? Has someone already noticed and is hunting through the all the planes of existence (and Rob’s safe) for the demonic spirit responsible for this error?
For technical issues I would page @codinghorror. I just eat stuff
They’ve both got leader status now. In addition, although both are in the ‘moderators’ group, only the full-named one is in the ‘editors’ group. Odd, but seems to point to an account change.
I do! I started with bOINGbOING The Magazine, and sometimes wonder how many here used to read it. I like that Carla still writes for BB on occasion.
Nope, not me. I don’t know if the zine even got to the mid-atlantic US. Love those old covers!
I started reading the web site in the BC (Before Comments) though.
I still have several issues, although i only made my commenting account this year.
I think that’s why most of us are here…
I really should have realized i was setting that up. Congratulations on being the one to catch it!
I have so many snarky comments to make!
How will the interwebs know how witty I am?
One can of course create one’s own thread which links to the original post. Or at least used to be able to do that.
There is another topic about this and I’ve responded there.
