Wherein our first example of a rare event still gets dismissed as normal, because demanding aliens sets you up to be disappointed with everything else in the universe. If you really are interested in life, there’s one planet that is full of it, it just takes different kinds of scopes. Space is full of weird space stuff instead.
That’s just what they want you to think /s
Not so sure about this. Highly advanced aliens would probably view us like we view a nest of ants (at best) or a hive of hornets (at worst.) The silence is pretty OK with me.
My guess is advanced aliens would look at us the way most people look at the Manitoba garter snake colonies…an extremely long trip out of your way, so probably not worth it unless you are really interested in snakes.
He said extraterrestrial, not alien. So, “just normal space stuff” certainly counts.
ETA It was also observed on the day I was born. Coincidence?
wow, those snake colonies look amazing!
Does this even matter in a post-Dec-2017 world, where the US Government and Pentagon have admitted that UFOs/UAPs are real, and that they’re here, and not made by the US or any known friend or enemy? Whistleblowers such as David Grusch, Lue Elizondo, Cmdr Fravor, and more saying that UAPs have been very near US Forces on a daily basis is surely more important (and credible) than the old Wow! signal.
On the one hand, that would have been cool. On the other hand, this is still cool, and it’s kinda nice to know that we didn’t accidentally record only a fragment of a nonrepeating NHI transmission at extremely low res, so we have no hope of ever understanding it.
I’m not the only one who wanted to go check on this, right?
Well, I mean, of course they are. That’s literally just saying, “people seeing things and not knowing what they are is real.” You look up at the sky, you see “something” and you’re not sure what it is, it’s a UFO/UAP. Could be a bird, could be a drone, could be the planet Venus, could be a light leak in your camera, they’re all UFO/UAPs. It doesn’t mean they represent actual flying objects that are behaving as they seem to, much less proof that extraterrestrials broke the laws of physics to nip over for a secret visit. That leap logically makes about as much sense as saying, “I don’t know what that thing is over there, therefore it’s a fairy.”*
*It’s totally a fairy, though.
I’m looking out my window right now at something flying by. Can you tell me what it is? No? Ha, even you now admit that UFOs are real! (By which I mean fairy.)
This isn’t just some random person not knowing what it is, though, this is military intelligence. Can you remember any other time there was some terrestrial matter they didn’t know everything about? Of course you can’t, they have a track record of having perfect knowledge animal, vegetable, and mineral.
