Any recommendations for Windows and Linux? I just put AntennaPod on my phone last night to try it and only one podcast was unavailiable (I don’t know why, it’s not a Spotify excusive).

Let’s see, on Linux I was writing my own shell scripts to download & play podcast episodes (with wget and mpg123) and last time I used Windows for anything everybody was still using iTunes
I remember https://www.banshee-project.org/ being a passable feature-by-feature open-source copy of iTunes if somebody wants that
I think AntennaPod lets us enter an RSS feed by hand if we can find the address somewhere

I already see people in other platforms crying about how Young is trying to “cancel” Rogan. LOL.
Also, in other news, looks like Joni Mitchell is following suit. I doubt it will matter much if it was just her leaving as well as Young (because let’s face it - even combined, I’m sure many music fans would be okay without either), but it might trigger a landslide of more artists doing this. And that very well might matter.

Songbird was pretty interesting, and then there was the fork after that, Nightingale: http://getnightingale.com/. I just looked at the repo for Nightingale and it looks like it’s been a while since any commits, though.
Not sure if some other project picked up the torch and created fork(s) that are being kept up to date.
In all likelihood, they have a term in that contract that would let them get out of that for intentional misinformation like COVID FUD. Corporations being corporate.

Wait, there are podcasts that are bound to certain platforms? I didn’t even know that was a thing. I know of a certain radio personality that called some paid thing he was doing a “podcast”, but it was not using an RSS feed, therefore, I think he was just using the term incorrectly.
They are a corporation, so pretty much, the answer is “yes”.
