Took these of the Whittier Fire (the smaller red outline on the sat image) on Saturday, the day it started, about an hour before sunset and then at 11PM. From the nature preserve, 1/2 mile from my house. Full moon that night - or near enough - and cloudless, other than the fire’s pyrocumulus.
