Steve Bannon pretty much declares war on the free press

Ah, so it’s OK that he normalizes Steve Bannon’s hate speech as long as he also calls out other injustices along the way. Gotcha!

Where does he do that? AFIK, Ken White never says that white supremacists shouldn’t be excoriated.

ETA: I’ve just searched both his blog and Twitter, and I can find exactly one mention of Steve Bannon on his Twitter feed (in the context of a joke) and zero on his blog (though his Popehat co-blogger, Marc Randazza, has a recent post on Bannon’s “the media should shut its mouth” quote).

Does failing to mention Bannon at all qualify as normalising his hate speech? Or do you have a link to something I’ve missed?

You might as well ask for a Georg Elser. He also was a close, but no cigar attempt. I don’t want an Elser or a Stauffenberg, I want a congress that actually does its job rather than letting il Douche stay in office.

I just don’t understand that logic. “When he says one thing, I hear something that he didn’t at all say” is not convincing to me.

I would think everyone on BB has seen enough internet debate to know that arguing that something should be legal is not the same as arguing in favor of that thing. Being pro heroin legalization doesn’t mean I think people should do more heroin.

Personally, I think Popehat is a national treasure. In situations in which most people would shit their pants (such as being targeted by a prosecutor), he isn’t intimidated because he knows from the inside what the tricks are and exactly what the law is.

Is that the media or what he thinks about women?
