They also gave the Republicans an excuse to loot Social Security, rape Medicare and Medicaid, cut Food Stamps, impoverish anyone who isn’t rich as fuck, and privatize the VA.

This is said as though it should be a surprise. It functioned exactly as planned, perfectly to standard. Grifters do that sort of thing, dontcha know? The genius (auto corrected to " heinous") of this move, as with so many grifts, is the rubes absolutely loving having been taken!
