Sublime moving panorama tells the tale of a dream

We made a crankie to serve as the scenery for m’spouse’s “all-singing all-dancing five-minute Lord of the Rings.” It had brief songs such as “To Mordor,” sung to the tune of “Tomorrow” from “Annie.”

I had known about the historical traveling panoramas, but he knew about the modern crankie movement.

Spoonflower made it possible. We printed the art (created digitally by me) on big pieces of fabric, which he sewed together into a long strip.

We also did one song with 2D stick puppets above the top of the box, with 2D flip-ups of the two towers.

It was great fun.
