Conservative religous people who champion outdated gender roles and want LGBT people to go back into the closet are not rare in this country. A minor celebrity gave a speech at a tiny religous school and it contained a bunch of conservative religous talking points. That’s a total dog-bites-man story. But it’s come up in my various news feeds and I knew about it before I saw it here. It’s the type of story that isn’t news, but gets people angry and drives clicks and “engagement” (hey, I’m commenting on this story). I’d like more interesting stuff from Boing Boing than the kind of stuff that shows up in my iPhone “news” or the default Edge browser page that I’m too lazy to change.
