My mother has that exact same brass owl!
For a while she sort of collected owl-stuff, there was lots of owl-themed things in the house when I was growing up.

Last year’s was a greenish-blue glass number. Equally superb, and equally 70’s goovy.

That was amazing, sadly for entertainment purpose, although very interesting.
I was trekking through deep snow wooded lands, (without snowshoes meh) and happened to see a what looked like a small (mouse) exit from a stick to the surface of the snow pack. It’s tracks only ventured a few steps, less then a foot from where it came out of the snow, Where the mouse tracks disappeared , enveloped in the surrounding snow was the prints of wing feathers, talon touch to pick up the mouse and nothing else. Was an incredible sight in the snow of the swift event.
