Perhaps you haven’t been watching the Russian ones where they don’t take their foot off the velocitater no matter what.
I said I don’t particularly want to be sterile. Or, not… it doesn’t really matter much.
I guess what I’d like is a cocktail that is also a particle accelerator.
I might get “fast-face.” That could be cool.
Would it count if it is accelerating your particles towards the ground? A humble tequila should work well then.
On a second thought… what about a beer brewed in one?
Swindon might be a bit of a shit hole, but it’s not actually that bad a place to live. Assuming you’re working, it’s big enough to have a reasonable amount to do and reasonable local services, but small enough to easily escape. Decent countryside nearby and Bristol, Oxford and London all fairly accessible. You can do far worse.
I’ve driven it many times and the only times it came to a halt was if someone panicked and forgot the Highway Code. Even then, the fact that traffic can route the opposite way around an obstruction means it doesn’t stop for long. I rate it a brilliant bit of junction design. High volume, high flow, no traffic lights required.
It still looks like the design started with the words “This week on Top Gear we’ve been issued a challenge: Design a traffic intersection.”
“How hard could it be?”
Your GPS unit should play pinball noises as you go 'round.
what do you expect from people who approve of Putin.
Tequila usually works for me.
Here’s the killer Ap; pot beer, you’re welcome.
Think of it as my gift to you.
What do you expect with everyone driving on the wrong side of the road?
We lefties in the UK, NZ, Oz, Japan, S. Africa etc. drive on the correct side of the road. It’s safer. Except when tourists from a right (wrong) side country visit and forget …
Man’s half face is forever young after getting hit by particle beam
The most bizarre side effect that occurred because of this has to do with his face. Looking at Bugorski now, you’d see the right half of his face looks like a normal wrinkled old man, but the left half of his face looks as if it was frozen in time 19 years ago. Apparently Botox’s got nothing on a particle accelerator’s proton beam for stopping wrinkles. .b
The obvious and boring reason for him not having having less wrinkles in the left half of his face is also mentioned in the article, although it is not specified as the reason.
The left half of his face slowly became paralyzed over the course of the next two years.
Besides that, interesting article! Having a really small thing shoot through your head with a massive amount of energy definitively has some effect!
Nothing. Absolutely nothing.
Percival Dunwoody the Elder, Idiot Automobile Driver.
A staple phrase in my family’s car when we’re stuck or renavigating the same place over and over:
Look kids! Big Ben! Parliament!
Having been stationed in Japan for a bit (and owning a car there–yes, 4 door Mazda Luce, I miss you dearly), I recall coming back to America to visit family/friends, and stopping in the liquor store to pick up a few things. Leaving the liquor store parking lot, I subconsciously reverted back to driving on the left side of the road and drove straight into oncoming traffic, much to the chagrin of my passenger–himself an Englishman–who immediately knew what was up and was yelling, “Wrong side!! Wrong side!!” the whole time.
Also, American drivers seem nicer than our Eastern counterparts:
Lawyers. Also, lawyers. And the cost of health insurance.
But not truckers. When, eventually, you get self driving trucks you will be able to import European and Japanese normal size cars and drive around in them safely, because the worst computer algorithm imaginable is better than a U S trucker or soccer mom.
Note: 1st world standards only.
I think that’s why I’ve never had problems with driving on that side of the road while visiting three very different countries (the U.K., Japan, and St. Lucia). As a leftie, I’m already used to mirror-imaging things all the time.
I can understand that.
I fly to Ireland, walk out of the airport, almost walk into the traffic. Same after flying back.
