We live in an area that gets a fair amount of tourists. Every year or so someone from a country that drives on the other side just goes for a morning jog at the start of their holiday and runs straight under a car without looking right as they step out. Splat, bye bye …
When I moved to England I had no problem adapting to driving on the left (because the car was flipped as well), except for those occasions when I went out somewhere in the evening, parked on the wrong side of the street (because that was legal there), then got in the car again to drive home afterwards. It was too natural, pulling out of a parking spot on the right side of the road, to stay there, especially at night when you don’t notice the orientation of most of the parked cars.
After one near-hit I got in the habit of putting a reminder post-it note on the steering wheel whenever I parked that way.
