Literally the only redeeming quality here is they made it so ridiculously easy to get it overturned in the courts should it ever pass a vote.

Republicans?!

They likely know it and this is just law porn for the Anti-Choice Alt-Right to jerk off to.

They’ll be able to show to their voter base that “they we care about the same values, but if it wasn’t for those darn ACTIVIST JUDGES we’d one step closer to having America be like how the Founding Fathers intended” energy to keep them riled up.

how about a constitutional amendment that states no abortion legislation is permitted to be introduced by men. i mean, it won’t solve everything but it would go a long way.

Are either of them married? Or have children who are married? Because I foresee people claiming to have had affairs and demanding that these women not have abortions. I imagine after that’s happened to lawmakers and their relatives a couple of times, there will be a change of heart.

I would have agreed with this dubious “redeeming quality” once upon an RBG-time, but given the make-up of the current SCOTUS, I have my doubts it would get overturned. Amy “The Handmaid” Coney Barrett sort of makes it almost a foregone conclusion, IMO.

Yes. The Xtianists are going to keep throwing these against the wall until one sticks long enough to make it to the SCOTUS that’s emboldened them.

This should be accompanied by a law allowing women to extract child support without a DNA test.

She should get his severed balls in an ornamental snow globe. You want to make a claim against a woman, put some meat in the game first buddy. And just to be clear, even if this was part of deal, it would still be fucking bullshit law that lets the man choose to do this or to not.

Small government, right?

If men could get pregnant, there’d be an abortion clinic on every corner in the USA. And it’d be FREE!

FACT!

How the hell do these men look their wives in the eyes after pulling shit like this?

Seriously, how fucked in the head do you have to be to even attempt to pass a law like this?

A law directly restricting the lawful right of normal citizens and their own bodies, based on hearsay. Why not bring back stoning? Next, it will be dunking women in rivers to see if they are a witch if they get pregnant and don’t want the baby.

Normally when people injest this much bath salts, they turn to cannibalism I hear, Republicans apparently try to pass 16th century legal doctrine when they do!

Because the “right to life” movement, if it’s about anything at all, is about making women a class of people with fewer rights than men.

have you looked at the composition of the supreme court lately? brett kavanaugh is the “swing” vote.

What the actual fucking fuck? I can’t even with this bullshit.

Though I tell you what - someone needs to dub this the “Empowering Rapists” act, and see how it plays with Republicans then. (Probably almost as well, depressingly…)

If I were a female legislator in that state, I would amend that bill to require the man to post a bond equal to the alimony and child support costs for the first 18 years of the life of the fetus, plus additional years to match the education level the man has beyond high school. Example AA +2, BA/BS +4, MD/PhD +8.

(I am just as disgusted with bill, but am proposing these changes to kill any chance at it passing.)

I would only correct your use of “people.” It is spelled “property.”
