Holy victim blaming. Just look at the sheer volume of supposition and bets.
I think you meant âweâ when you used âyouâ just there.
That scene would have played out much differently had I (or a great many other people) been the parent involved. I hope they work out their system so that pedo-creepers are kept out (understandable worry, not everyone should be able to walk in and take a child) and parents are allowed access with a minimum of fuss (and by that I mean fuss that would have left that cop bleeding in his own handcuffs had some of us been there). When he made the ingress to wrist lock⌠well, that could have turned out much differently.
The main cop fuckup here was was getting into a heated argument at all. That is a no-no. You can hear and see him getting worked up, engaging in back and forth, and ultimately making the decision to take things physical - that could have (and I would argue, should have) worked out really, really badly for this officer. Given this mans skills in conflict management, not only should he not be an officer on school grounds, he should not be an officer at all, anywhere, period. This jackhole is going to kill someone over a speeding ticket.
Yes, the very definition is the CSA states. We even call it being Southron - the spelling in use at the time.
And no, you shouldnât be surprised. The idea that racism is centered in the South is far more a geographic stereotype than a reality. In fact, the wildest protest against the school bussing ruling was in Boston. (Iâve lived all over the country, and Iâve never encountered more direct, in-your-face racism that Boston. I canât explain it, I merely observe it.)
The thing with Florida is as you said - a more modern kind of joke because of all the New Englanders whoâve either retired here or are snowbirds, and also, piles and piles of immigrants, from Brazil to Canada. west coast has large Greek communities. (I havenât even heard anyone speak English all day, today. I know exactly 1 person who was actually born here.) But the interior parts of State are still culturally entirely Southron, and the coasts are several different demographics. Itâs just a real weird place, that way.
There are lots of flavors of Southron - different food, different accents (maybe you donât hear the differences, but we sure do!), different local habits, but with several strong underlying thread of common history. Houston is not at all like New Orleans, and neither is like Nashville - any more than Liverpool is just like London. If you think itâs all one thing or that weâre somehow all the same, you either havenât really spent any time here, or you werenât paying attention. (And given what allâs been going on recently, itâd be extremely interesting to see what nationwide secession votes might look like right now!)
Clearly I failed to mention the hyperbole
Hyperbole⌠you kind of have to do it to excess. If you think youâve gone far enough, throw some hitler in to make sure
Authoritarian dumps on someone being treated badly by other authoritarian.
