Yep. The Texas Statute is a Logical Fallacy

He was sentenced to ten years probation and was supposed to check in monthly with his probation officer. A video surfaced on YouTube showing him drinking (a probation violation) and so he disappeared with his mother.

Then heā€™s an asshole.

Nor would they give a shit that this distinction shouldnā€™t be relevant.

Hey, donā€™t endanger Texas Truck Nutz.

We should get @OtherMichael to create a bot to write these sorts of stories, and then we can all weigh in on which are going to happen next. It doesnā€™t seem like there are too many variables. Insert minority, gross overreach by authority figure, statistical weight for geographic region, etc.

It would probably be too easy. These situations are starting to sound like fear of ā€œthe otherā€ mad-libs.
Honestly, Iā€™m damn tired of hearing about crap like this.

Waitā€¦arenā€™t YOU in Texas?

Yeah, there is more than enough Bubba Dumbass driving loud mufflerless white trucks around here!

Not really. This is the affluenza kid. He was too affluent to be responsible for his actions.

Does anyone else get the feeling that Texas and Florida get together late at night, get really drunk together, and try to figure out ways to bring down the general social awareness level of the US as a whole?

Shared anatomy?
Well, if Florida is the flaccid penis of America, then perhaps Texas can be the sagging ballsack.

would the story be any less offesnsive if the kid were muslim rather than Sikh?

Itā€™s kind of the perfect storm - bullying, corruption, bigotry, and the idiocy of ā€˜zero toleranceā€™ (and other senselessly rigid) school policies.

Iā€™ve so far avoided commenting on this. Racist crazy is far from confined to the United States. But to me what this is actually exposing is a terrible level of technical knowledge among educators and police. Itā€™s actually an indictment of the US educational system. I donā€™t just mean recognising a solar charger, I mean sleeping through classes on civics (but then Trump presumably went to very expensive schools that failed to teach him the basics of the Constitution) and, apparently, the understanding of English.
Scott Adams (who has been coming in for a lack of flak recently) had a riff about all the intelligent people going to live in Switzerland away from the idiots. The problem with this is that in places like SF you are getting just such an IQ aristocracy but they still manage to be sexist and sociopathic.

You may call it a ā€œpotato gunā€, I prefer to think of them as ā€œdead rat launchersā€.
