I’m trying to imagine anyone buying Miller High Life on purpose. I was unaware that they were still selling it at all; seemed like Miller Genuine Draft and Lite had completely absorbed its customer base.
High Life was notorious in the homebrewing community as an example of the worst mass-market beer. Because it was sold in clear bottles, it required additives to keep the hops from going skunky from exposure to light.

Their first beer might well be bought them by their parents, who hopefully know better. And I’m pretty sure, even as a teenager having his first beer I would have known not to drink American beer (this was before the microbrew explosion, so all American beer was suspect)
