Sometimes movies can be too real to be enjoyed, even if they have something topical to say. I think escapism is why superhero movies are so popular. We don’t go to films to feel bad. We might like excitement, suspense, and a little scare but make it too real and no thanks.

Upcoming? I saw it last week at AMC. There were only two other people in the audience. I thought it was a great small-scope film with a well crafted unassuming climax. It did not try to overexert itself (Molly’s Game it was not) and the lead actor was fantastic.
Edit: I see on IMDB it has “limited” release.
