The Biden Administration. Document the atrocities - Praise the graces

I wish people would get this passionate about reforming US healthcare. But of course that’s “socialism!”

Once again I am not surprised but nonetheless disappointed in my people.

I guess once there is an “elephant in the room” politically social norms demand we kindly let ourselves be trampled one way or another.

Should not require praise for calling water “wet,” but this is where we are.

Statement from President Joe Biden on the Pardon of LGBTQI+ Service Members
Wrongly Convicted

Today, I am righting an historic wrong by using my clemency authority to pardon many former service members who were convicted simply for being themselves. Our Nation’s service members stand on the frontlines of freedom, and risk their lives in order to defend our country. Despite their courage and great sacrifice, thousands of LGBTQI+ service members were forced out of the military because of their sexual orientation or gender identity. Some of these patriotic Americans were subject to court-martial, and have carried the burden of this great injustice for decades.

As Commander in Chief, I am committed to maintaining the finest fighting force in the world. That means making sure that every member of our military is safe and respected - so they can focus on their mission.

This is about dignity, decency, and ensuring the culture of our Armed Forces reflect the values that make us an exceptional nation. We have a sacred obligation to all of our service members - including our brave LGBTQI+ service members: to properly prepare and equip them when they are sent into harm’s way, and to care for them and their families when they return home. Today we are making progress in that pursuit.

“Now that President Biden is delivering real savings for the families who have been overcharged by Big Pharma for medicines they desperately need, they’re continuing to fight tooth and nail against the financial interests of American seniors,” Bates said. “They’ll lose this fight, too.”

 Is there a recent published statement from the Biden administration on this? All I could find were news stories like this:

Staff for Admiral Rachel Levine, the assistant secretary for health and a transgender woman, urged a medical organisation to abandon recommended age limits – and apparently succeeded.

Another NYT story from the past week is along similar lines:

Yeah, that NYT article from the 28th has all the trappings of taking half a statement out of context. Like the full statement finished with “…but also thinks those are decisions best made between a patient and their healthcare provider, so we encouraged this change in the guidelines.”

It marks the nation’s ninth utility-scale offshore wind project under President Biden’s administration.

Atlantic Shores South contains two separate projects that would have the capacity to produce 2,800 megawatts of renewable energy, the equivalent of providing electricity to one million homes.

(The Hill reprint)

The CNN commentator said the Democrats who defend Biden on TV have “completely different” conversations in private, amid growing concern in the party about Biden’s standing as the presumptive nominee.

“I understand people want to, you know, defend him and protect him and give him the space and the dignity to make his own choice,” Jones told CNN’s Jim Sciutto Wednesday, referring to Biden.

“But there is a big conversation happening right now about how this happens – not whether,” he added.

Jones painted a chaotic picture of the Democratic party as it tries to figure out a path forward in private discussions.

“Behind the scenes, it’s full-scale panic,” Jones said. “People are passing around legal memos, PDFs are flying back and forth on WhatsApp, trying to figure out, what are the options? How can you replace Biden? How do you get him to do it in a way where he feels respected, as he should be respected?”

Van Jones and Meghan McCain have both all but disappeared from national mainstream media over the last four years. They’re both just trying to become relevant again. I’m not convinced Jones is connected enough to the Democratic Party inner machinery to actually have any inside knowledge of Democrats talking about how to replace Biden (referencing the post before yours), and McCain obviously hasn’t been connected to the GOP since Trump took it over. I suspect, since Jones mentioned WhatsApp, when he says Democrats are talking about how to replace Biden, he means people like him, not people actually in power. And McCain is just flailing trying to find an audience again after her career killing decision to leave the View.
