What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas…
Will admission be free or do you have to jump over something to get in?
He actually became a painter after he retired from stunts. It would be funny if the museum had nothing about his stunt career, but just had his landscape paintings or whatever.
Did not know that, and the museum should definitely feature this part of his career.
I jumped out of my seat when reading this…
Yeah, but how many bones did you break?
Will this be an exhibit in the Museum of Painful Failure? Will there be x-rays of all his broken bones? And pill bottles for all the meds he got addicted to from the pain?
Evel Knievel was certainly an icon of his time. And I’m impressed by his ability to do the same or worse dangerous things after being severely injured previously. But I think motivational seminar speakers need to point out that sometimes you shouldn’t brush off failure to get back up and do what you were doing again until it works.
Just an FYI, for anyone wondering what the museum is all about…from the museum curators themselves.
I visited the Evel Knievel museum a couple years ago. It’s very cool! It does indeed have a section dedicated to the toys and also features a wall full of submitted vintage photos from the 1970s of kids jumping things on their bikes, not to mention all the motorcycles, jumpsuits and one of the sky cycles.
I also liked the Chuckles endorsement. One of my favorite candies as a kid.
