It’s 150,000 now? Yikes! Yeah, that’s a good point: the extreme affluence is based significantly on the size of the community. There are individuals who are far richer on the North Shore, but it’s such a relatively small group of people that on the whole, Naperville stands out more.

When you say “an area of the city”, do you mean downtown Naperville?

I went hiking up inside the BlueRidge last weekend and the trail head was up in a heavily traveled hollow in which many trump 2020 signs could be seen in yards, etc. Once on the trail we encountered people from all walks of life: Japanese, Chinese, German, Hispanics, etc. etc. All this multicultural mashup right inside MAGA world. Thanks to that mashup of friendly well adjusted hikers and international treehuggers that little MAGA hollow is supported by people who pay fees, shop at stores, buy gas and the like. So, fuck these backwards asshats who scoff at multiculturalism. It’s life goddammit. Deal with it.

Yep. Instead of a small, isolated town of rich people, this is a large city that’s mostly upper middle class.

Pretty much. Naperville Central is right downtown IIRC, in the older section of town. The more well-off white and Asian people live south and west of there, in a different school district entirely.

The spokesman Kevin Bishop said in a Friday email that after the point at which the clip ended, Key “actually followed Senator Graham after he walked away” into his office, where Key “made his way towards the door and proceeded to make a vulgar comment” but did not enter Graham’s office.

What a shame nobody was able to provide any kind of proof that this happened, and we only have the word of a man who has a vested interest in tearing down a true American hero. Maybe Lindsey was hysterical, or the cut of his blazer suggested he was asking for it, or he mistook the Marine’s intentions, or was blackout drunk and hallucinated the whole thing, or [insert whatever other “refuse to believe victims” horseshit he shoveled at Kavanaugh’s accusers during his hissy fit at the confirmation hearings].

Excuse me, I need a shower.

For those wondering how these hearings have increased support for Il Douche, this may partially explain. If you only get your news from Fox, you get a version that is not even congruent to the one experienced by the reality based community.

This is bonkers. This high school incident, and just a week earlier the Buffalo wild wings incident. Then this week, another local high school (in Aurora) had their own dose of public racism. Aurora is quite a bit more diverse than Naperville, but jeez.

Don’t forget the ongoing Syracuse racism drama.

I don’t know that this is Trump inspired, specifically, but this person is cruel, callous, and fucking dangerous… just like Trumpians.

ETA: doctors and nurses assuming people are faking is how people die. But to people like this, better a hundred people suffer than a “faker” (quotes for a reason) get treatment.
