The āYoung Americaās Foundationā got themselves some new sock-puppets on campus to invite these speakers. Naturally the California Patriot student magazine wonāt be picking up the hefty tab for the speakersā fees.
By parachuting those speakers on Berkeley, theyāre obviously trying to stir up as much trouble as possible. I wouldnāt be surprised if they try to arrange something to try to ābalanceā Charlottesville.

So many bipartisan organizations let themselves get bilked by this crap. The California Patriot is partially funded by a group encouraging independent student publications, but thanks to the tens of millions being invested in extreme-far-right propaganda these speakers will continue to make their millions while someone like the ACLU comes in and picks up the legal fee tab in their wake as those conservative funders just walk away once more.
I just donāt get what the point is of being led around by the nose like that.

Here they go again with the āboth sidesā false equivalence. What both sides? If Trump were impeached, it would require the Republican members of Congress to do it, and so one side would be the legitimate government of the United States, and the other would be revolting.

Iāve heard a few interviews with ACLU reps over the last couple of days.
A repeated feature is me screaming abuse at them while they do it. Catastrophically, suicidally stupid, and they havenāt learnt a goddamned thing from Charlottesville.
If Trump is impeached, he will not step down. He will call the base to arms, and the overwhelming majority of them will follow him.
Which side the military and police would take in the ensuing fight is very hard to predict.

Maybe. I also hear that ācredible sources close to himā say that heās less than happy dealing with the daily grind of being the prez, especially since it takes him away from things heād rather be doing. And thus that heād be okay with a āgracefulā exit/ resignation.
