After listening to the clip a couple of times and mulling it over, I was willing to consider the charitable interpretation that by “that community”, he was referring to the actual physical neighborhood that the person they’re discussing in the interview is from (namely, part of NYC), but no, he really is actually just that stupid.

By a manager who was a big fan of Situationist disruption, though… and of course PIL very much was not a boy band, and that was all Johnny’s baby. Also, so were the Beatles when they started out? I don’t see people using that to discredit their influence.
